Making an informed choice

08 lutego 2022

By becoming members of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) we aim to reassure our customers wishing to install a small-scale heat or power generation unit for their homes, that they have the necessary confidence and service standards to make an informed choice.

Small-scale heat or power generation units are small-scale devices installed in residential properties which enable you to generate your own heat or power from renewable, low carbon sources.

Small-scale heat or power generation units are small-scale devices installed in residential properties which enable you to generate your own heat or power from renewable, low carbon sources.

At Alternative Heating Solutions Limited we provide our customers with photovoltaic solar panels (PV), air source heat pumps and solar collectors for domestic hot water heating. These systems have the potential to reduce your energy bills and your impact on the environment, and in case of solar PV give you the ability to sell your excess electricity back to the grid. By reducing our electricity consumption, all the above measures also help to decrease the overall electrical load required from the grid. However, the battery supported PV systems particularly help to cut down the peak time consumption, meaning our electricity bills will not incur extra tariff charges at peak time consumption.

It is important to us to provide our customers with full information on systems and technologies available on the market, advise on their suitability for customers specific property, upfront costs, running costs and expected performance before the customer agrees to buy.

The Consumer Code is closely linked to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme – installer and product certification scheme, and both are run by Gemserv, on behalf of UK Government.
